Recruiters

One of the easiest ways to find a new job is to have someone do the work for you.  If you are highly qualified, have 10+ years of experience in a specialized field, or have become a true subject matter expert in your field then recruiters and headhunters are an excellent option.

However, you need to make it easy for them to find you by having a good internet footprint whether on LinkedIn or in industry websites and journals.

💡 Pro Tip: See our advice for getting your LinkedIn information up to speed on the Preparing for Your Search page.

Almost every recruiter with a senior position to fill will go to LinkedIn to see who they can find to fit the job description even if the candidate isn’t looking for a new job.

Remember, they get paid to find you a job so make it easy for them to help you.

💡 Pro Tip: Network with recruiters who specialize in finding candidates in your field.  If you are able to stay on the top of their "top candidate list" then they contact you when the right role opens up.
